Received Tuesday, 11.10 p.m. MILBOURNE, July 9. The Victorian State Government has begun negc-tiations with the Commonwealth for the prefahrication of 11,500 steel homes to cost £16,000,000. The contract will he the largest ever let in Australia. The Victorian Housing Commission estimates the cost of land, home, f encing and sewerage will he ahout £1370. The -tooling of the Cpmmonwealth Aircraft Corporation 's plantat: Fishermen's Bend for the job, will take ahout six months "but within 18 rnonths a weekly output of 100 homes is expected. The contract will provide for the 11,500 homes to he completed within three years.
