BOXING NOTES

"Spectator") Ji,*-

JOHNSON HARD TO BEAT "

' (By

Jack Johnson, of Australia, has proved himself to be a hard man to beat as shown by his defeat of Doug. Brown on points at Melbourne last month. Being the light-heavyweight champion of Australia, Johnson has yet to be beaten for his title, and at present there is no man likely to do this. He defeated Don Mullet easily, outclassing him in ringcraft. Johnson, who now scales I2st. 5Aibs., is regarded to be the best boxer of his class seen in Australia for a number of years. On July 15 Jim Griifin is to fight Bobby Fuller at Wellington. The last time these two met Fuller won by a points decision, and it is the general opinion that Griffin will make amends.
