JEWS DEMONSTRATE.

Thousands of Jews, headed by the ymly Jewish Victoria Cross winner in the' war, a former pettv officer iu the submarine service, Mr. Thonias Gould, staged a proeession front tlie Bast End to Trafalgar Square in a great protest denionstration against the British Government's action in Palestine. The proeession, in which there were Jewish girls, patriarchal rabbis and elderly women, inchided several hundred former servicenten and 200 young persons aged front 14 to 10 who spent years in Dennan eoncentration camps and bore camp identity marks tatooed on their arnis. The majority of tlie voungsters were transported front Poland wlien little more than babies. T«'o of them yelled to a reporter: "We must go to Palestine; nothing will stop us. " Banners carried the slogans: "The Haganah Led the Allies to Svria," " Tliirty Thousand Palestine Volunteers Served the Allies," and "Release Otir Leaders." There were no disorders during the denionstration. A resolution passed by the Zionist Federation of • Britain and Ireland which was read out to tlie crowd and afterwards delivered to Downing Street ealled for the inimediate release of tlie detaiued members of the Jewish executive in Palestine, the cessation of tlie attacks against the Jewish settlements and the inimediate opening of Palestine to 100,000 Jews. Two thousand Glasgow Jews, carrving banners, marched through tlie eity's streets to the Great Synagogue as a protest against the British Government 's policy in Palestine.
