Genefit Football During the week-end two beneht football matches were played on he Shannon Domain. The first match was a third grade game oetween a team from the Weraroa Boys' Training Centre and Shannon thirds. In this game the Weraroa boys played some very good football, and it is a pity that they have not been given the opportunity to play in the Horowhenua competitions. They are a good all round team, and with a little brushing' up and regular competition matches they would prove themselves worthy competitors in the third grade section. After an interesting game the local boys proved the winners by 12 points to 0. Mr. George Wood was in charge of the game. The main match of the afternoon was a senior game between the local seniors and a team representing the Moutoa swamp. The game was fast and even, and well up to senior standard. The home team proved the winners by 5 points to 3. Mr. Jeffrey was the referee.
