DOUBLE TRAGEDY
WELLINGTON, July 7. A double tregedy was revealed at 6 Y'ictoria Street, Lower Hutt, on Saturday afternoon, when the police, acting on information suppiied, entered a house and found a woman in her bedroom witli her throat cut, and a man hanging by the neclc from a rope atthched to a trellis spanning the hallway. A chair was beside the suspended body. Both persons were dead. They were: — Charles Alfred Strong and his wife,i Agnes Winifred Strong, both 70 years of age. Both the Strongs were respected citizens. The husband retired from employment in tlie Tuilwav workshops four years ago. Out of their savings, the couple, who were thrifty, had made the property their own and also had a motor car. They have a family of three, all of whom are married. The old couple lived alone and the police believe they had been dead some days.
