BOY CYCLIST INJURED
STRUCK BY CAR AT MANAKAU Severe injuries to his ieft leg were suffered by August Ransfield, aged twelve!, of Manakau, . when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car at Manakau on Saturday. The accident occurred about i 11.30 a.m. on the mairi highway iii'the dip just north of the Waikawa Bridgei The driver of the car was Mr. S. M. May, of Tokoroa, Putaruru, who was travellihg northwardsv It is believed the boy swerved out unexpectedly from hfs companion cyclist, and Mr. May ran his car off the road and down the bank at the side in an unsuccessful effort to avoid him. -The injured lad was taken tr Palmerston North Hospital by ambuiance.
