RITA HAYWORTH IN NEW MUSICAL
Larry Butler has been assigned by Columbia Pictures To handle the j fantasy effects in the Rita Hayworth technicolour musical extravaganza of ancient Greece and modern Broadway, "Down to Earth," which Don I-Iartman will produce and A1 Hall direct. Some of the most elaborate "magical" ; sequences ever done on the screen j will be incorporated in the film ; depicting the uncanny powers of ! gods and goddesses of Greek | mythology who mingle with mortals j of 1946. Rita Hayworth, who has j been resting since the completion of j "Gilda," has checked in at Col- j umbia Pictures to begin dance ; rehearsals for the musical, with j Jack Cole handling the coreo- i graphy. Six weeks of rehearsals ; will be devoted to the lavish dance ! numbers after which the picture is i slated to be put before the cam- 1 eras.
