•*v ■ • ! KIMBERLEY'S JULY MEETING I The July meeting of the Kimberley Women 's Institute was neld last; fnursday, and a fine day resulted m a good attendance, with Mrs. Dorne presiding. The meeting •operied with the singing of the National Anthem and the Aspirations. A vote of sympathy was extended to Mrs. Weaver in the death of her husband, and all present stood in silence1. Two new members were enrolled. The business of the evening dealt mainly with discussion of W.I. conference remits. Mrs. Denton gave a report of the group raliy committee meeting. After the serving of afternoon tea by the hostesses, Mesdames Field and Hagan, members told Scotch jokes, which caused some amusement. A bring-and-buy stall did good business, resulting in a welcome addition to the funds. The president was presen'ted with violets, it being her birthday month. Competitions restilted as follov/s: Best spray of flowers: Mrs. Coulson 1, Mrs. Field 2, Mrs. Evans 3. Best flowers: Mrs. Dorne 1, Mrs. Woodmass 2, Mrs. Field 3. President's competition for jug of flowers: Mrs. J. Griffith 1, Mrs. Evans 2, Mrs. Field 3. Other competitions were won by Mesdames MeLean and Procter. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
