Mr. Bevin proposed tliat a rouncil of | tlie Foreign Ministers of Britain, ! France, Russia and Amerira should. j witiiin one year after roming into force j of the peace treaty witli Italv, jointly | determine the iinal disposal of Ttnly'sj possessions in Africa whereto, by treaty, Italv renounred all riglits and titles, tlie Iinal disposal to be made by the four powers in accordatire with one or any rombination of the following solutions: — Firstly, independence; secondlv, ineorporation in neighbouring territories; or thii'dly, trusteesliip undor Itnited Xations, or under Italv, -or under any one of the TJnited Xations individually. In the event of disagreemrent among the four powers, the matter be referred j to the General Assembly of United Xatiou.i for a reeommendation whicli the four powers should uow agree to acrept, bearing in mind tlie pledges given the Senussi by Britain. during the war. j
