Personal * Mrs. G. McEwan, Senr., has arrived home-from Nelson, where she has been attending the wedding of her grand-daughter. Mrs. H. W. Knowles returned home on Sunday after spending a holiday with her grandson, Mr. D. G. Leng-Ward and Mrs. Leng-Ward, of Palmerston North. Euchre Winnera Held under the auspices of the Church of England Ladies' Guild, the euchre party every Tuesday afternoon in the Parish Hall eontinues to be popular. This week's winners were: Mrs. F. Thomson I, Mrs. D. McLaggan 2. Mrs. R. Andrew won the consolation. Next week the points prize will be decided. June Weather The highest day temperature in the shade registered in Shannon in June was 61 degrees on Jupe 26 apd the lowest 48 degrees oh Juhe 5. The liighest night temperature was 54 degrees on June 26 and the lowest 27 degrees on June 7. Gardner. , Benefit Football Match On Sunday a benefit football match will be played at Shannon in aid of Mr. Fx*ed Callesen, the weliknown junior player who is still in hospital as the result of a footbqil injury received some months ago. The early match will be between Shannon third grade team and a team from Weraroa Training Farm and in the main match Shannon seniors will meet a team from the Moutoa swamp. The match is being conducted by permission oi the Horo when ua Rugby Union and the Shannon Borough Council.
