APPEAL MADE FOR HELP
** k LADY GALWAY GUILD The packers of the Levin branch - of the Lady Galway Guild have • been very busy recently at ' the A.N.A. rooms. Five large- cartons, containing 862 garments, were packed and forwarded for shipment to England. This was a ve.ry jine consignment of clothing and Deautiful knitted garments, including sets for girls with pleated skirts to ' match and also twin sets. The hand-worked garments 1 were especially worthy of mention. The thanks of the guild are extended to St, John's Methodist Guild, Kimberley Road Institute, Waitarere Ladies, Ohau Women's Division, Kent Street helpers, Church of Christ Guild and the many ladies who have worked' so faithfully for the guild. Special mention is due to the girls of the Horowhenua College. They have helped the work of the guild very considerably since its inception. Under the leadership of Mi.ss Chamnan-Cohen. thev have con*-
tributed many useful and beauti"ful articles. This year the girls have been very busy in knitting up over one hundred skeins of wool. The Lady Galway Guild is entirely self-supporting. and as the expenses are many, the committee appeals to the citizens of Levin to help England. Money donations will be most acceptable and also articles for sale, such as fruit, flowers, vegetables, etc. The guild is also in need of second-hand clothing, not necessarily mended. There are at present on sale in the rooms new tins suitable fqr sending biscuits or fat overseas at fourpence each, as well as larger tins, a bed tray, and a few small articles.
