NEW POWER SHORTAGE WARNING
AUCKLAND, July 3. With the level of Lake Taupo at t-he lcwest for many years, a general Warning has heen sent from the load des patch office of the State Hydro Electric Department at Hamilton, to all supply authorities in the North Island, that a further reduction in power quotas may be imminent. Each w.eek the power boards are instructed as to the limits of their consumption and although the figures for the week ending July 10, are the same as for some time past, the load despatcher has advised that, owing to lack of rainfall in Taupo, it may be necessary to impose a new schedule for next Wedneday.
