Kurawhi, surprise whiuer of the Waikato Plate at the Waikato Racing Club's Winter Ilack Aleeting at Te Hapa on Saturdav, was purehased at auction at Riccarton last August by Air. J. T. Crawford, of Kiwitahi, for '271 guineas.
