RAILCAR STRIKES JIGGER
MISHAP NEAR SHANNON The southbound railcar which left Shannon at 9.19 a.m. yesterday morning struck a motor jigger driven by Mr. J. Lilley, inspector of permanent' ways, on the main line between Shannon and Koputaroa. The jiggcr was extensively damaged, but Inspector Lilley, who jumped clear before the accident, was unhuft. The railcar was slightly damaged and, after tcmporary- renairs had been carried out, proceeded on its journey after being delayed approximately half an hour.
