RECORD NATIONAL SAVINGS
Constituting a record, apa.rt from loan*periods, the outstanding total of £27,056 14s lld was reeeived last week at the 24 "quota" offices in the Palmerston North postal 'district. The city's investments amounted to £17,899 16s lld, and in addition to this impressive figure, splendid individual eontribfitions were made by a number of the country towns, notable among these being Feilding (£3192 5s), Ashhurst (£1520 19s), Levin -(£941 9s), Rongotea (£854 9s 3d), Dannevirke (£7.13 Is 6d), Halcombe (£506 13s), Pongaroa (£481 ls). Twenty of tlie 24 towns secured the weekly quota, the lisl being Apiti, Ashhurst, Bulls, Dannevirke, Feilding, Glen Oroua, Halcombe, Kimbolton, Levin, Ohau, Pahiatua, Palmerston North, Pongaroa, Rangiwahia, Rongotea, Sanson, Shannon, Weber, Weraroa nnd Woodville.
