FEATURED PLAYERS AND STARDOM
Not every featured player wants to be a star. If that statement sounds rather surprising, consider the facts of the case: To be a star involves a player in a great deal oi responsibility — both social and financial. As top-ranking featured artists they find they do very weli on the financial side. They have prestige. Also they have a chance j to do a variety of roles which don'i j "type" them in the public eye. They j contribute to the quality of a pro- ! duction — and yet the entire film . does not depend on their efforts. • All very good reasons why somej prefer featured status.
