AUCKLAND, July 1. A Maori was found lying dead on the floor of his two-roomed cottage at Kaharoa, about 1(5 miles from Rotorua, today, with a shotgun wound in the face. Shortly after the discovery was made a police party from Rotorua went to the cottage and arrested the' man's wife and she will appear in the Rotorua police court tomorrow morning on a charge of murder. The victim was John Leach, aged 40, a farm manager. He had a larg*e gunshot wound in the mouth and neck and it is believed he was no more than three feet away from the shotgun when it was discliarged. The victim \s wife is Ada Leach, a Maori, aged 30.
