AUCKLAND, July 1. , Further developments in the banning of student publications at Auckland University College, which today toolc the form of slogans painted on the roadway and the reeeipt of an offer by the Students' Association of Vietoria College, to print an Auckland edition of their student paper, were followed by a meeting of the Professorial Board of the college, which after meeting for several hours, was not able to complete its deiiberations and is to meet again tomorrow. Armed with thiclc paint brushes and the type of white paint which appears to be the same as that used for marking traffic lines on streets and which will certainlv not wear off for some time, a few students set to work at an early liour this morning in Prineess Street. Professors and students for morning clases were greeted with, "We want Craccum," and "We want student representation," as well as other more i personal eoinments referring to the chairman of the board, in letters up to two feet liigh. On the bitumen road surface outside the main entrance a large arrow was pointing to the building where the Professorial Board was in session and carried the words, ' ' Gestapo headquarters. ' 3 A letter. received by the Students' Association from Vietoria University College Students' Association, Wellington, during the week-end, was dispiayed today in the glass case used by the association for its notices. This letter contained two resolutions passed at the annual meeting of the Wellington students' body: — (1) "That this annual meeting learns with regret of the snppressiop of the press in Auckland University College and affinns that all student publications should be free from interference from bodies outside the Student Association," and (2) "that the exeeutive go into the question of publishing an Auckland edition of Ralient. ' ' This is the College .publieation of, Vietoria College. "In the latter eonneetion," the letter continues, "we would be pleased if your exeeutive would advise us as soon as possible as to the wishes of the Auckland University College Students' Association." Officials of the Students' Association stated that as the letter had not yet received consideration, it was not lcnown what reply would be made to the suggestion of proyidipg a college magazine from Wellington.
