Thr^e persons were injured when a car in which they wei'e passengers crashed into an electrie power pole in Russell Street, Palmerston North, shortly after 1 o'clock yesterday morning. They were: Miss Adrian Eckhoff, of 3 Belena Terrace, Wellington. Miss Pat Brovvn, a nurse at the Palmerston North Hospital. Mr.vTack Muir, of 10 Carlton Avenue, Palmerston North. The car was driven by Mr. G. T. New, of Awapuni, who gse.aped unhurt. The party had been attending a dance in Linton Street. The driver said he was dazzled by the headlight's of an approaching vehicle. The three passengers suffered head injuiMs and wei-e removed by ambulan.ee to the hospital for treatment. Their condition last night was reported as satisfactory. The car was badly damaged and some of the plectric cables were brolcen when the pole was pushed out of plumb.
