SPANISH SUBMARINE SUNK
CREW OF 46 ALL LOST Received Saturday, 11 a.m. MADRID, June 29. The sinking of a Spanish submarine off the Belearics, with the loss of forty-six officers and men; due to a head-on collision during a destroyer and submarine exercise, opened a large hole in the submarine, which sank immediately in deep water. Other craft circled the scene of the collision, but found no trace of the submarine. No members of the crew were rescued.
