BOWLING CENTRE MEETS

The annual meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre will be held on July 9. The report shows the total membership of affiliated clubs to be 2478, as against 2228 for the previous year, an increase of 250 members. New clubs are being opened at Waikanae and Miramar. Five clubs in the northern districts had competed for the Country Pennants, won by Paekakariki. The open singles attracted an entry of 112 players, while thirty rinks had taken part in the" veterans' games. The centre had paid- visits to Nae Nae, Otaki, Paekakariki, Paraparaumu Beach, Plimmerton, Raumati South, Disabled Servicemen and Upper Hutt Clubs. Ten meetings of the executive were held during the season, the Otaki Club's delegate (Mr. Mclntyre) attending four.
