RECEPTION TENDERED LADY FREYRERG-

WELLINGTON, June 27. Prior to the opening of the Dominion V.A.D. Council to-day, the council tendered a reception to Lady Freyberg, who has been appointed commandant-in-chief of th,e Voluntary Aid Detachment of the Red Cross. Lady Freyberg said that no work lay nearer her heart. She paid a warm tribute to the work of the New Zealand Red Cross services overseas.
