Women's Institute Last week 14 members of the Linton Women's Institute gardening cirele spent the afternoon at the residenee of Mrs. W. R. Mullins, Victoria Road-. The schedule for the dafi'odil show to be neld m September was finalised. A leaves competition was won by Mrs. E. Crawford and one for straight seams by Mrs. Cooksley. Refreshments were enjoyed and the garden, not so interesting now that it is in winter garb, was viewed. Mangaore Golf Despite the adverse weather conditions which prevailed at Mangaore over the week-end— wind reaching gale force at times — there was an excellent attendance oi members on the links on both days. The Saturday competition took the form of a stableford, and the results were as follows. Among the ladies Mrs. T. Boon was first and the next best cards were those oi Mrs. R. Lester and Mrs. Robinson. Mr. R. Simes was first in tne men and Mr. F. Baker second.
