A "new development " has taken place in the negotiations for anpnterim Government for India, said Dr. AzadIle refused to express an opinion as to whether the development was liopeful but the Exchange relegraph correspondent says there is an unexpected air of cheerfulness among members of the Congress Working Committee after the morning meeting. Gandhi and Patel early this morning conferred with members of the British Cabinet Mission. An earlicr message stated that Dr. Azad, the president of the Congress Party, told the Xew Delhi correspondent of the Associated Press that Congress had rejeeted the British plan for an interim Government. "The tliing is now over as l'ar as Congress is con.cerned and a resolution rejecting the plan is being drafted," he said. The correspondent said that Dr. Azad was wcary after a hectic day, of meet-. ings, culmina'ting in a three-hour session of the Congress Working Committee. Earlicr tlie Yiceroy (Lord Wavell) and the British Cabinet Ministers had conferred. with Dr. Azad and Pandit Xeliru for two lionrs.
