EVEN JUNIOR GAME

A match that was evenly contested was the one piayea at Oi-am on Saturday between Paraparaumu B and Otaki Juniors. Both are well down the championship ladder, but either side may be the means of yet upsetting some of the leading teams. Players, mostly on the young side, gave quite a creditable exhibition, but lacked the finer points of the game. Their handling and kicking were well jip to standard. Otaki' started off with thirteen players, but held their own till the game had been in progress for some time. Gatfield, for Paraparaumu, kicked a nice penalty : goal; Hakaraia converted a try scored by Barney 'Lumsden, thus I giving Otaki the advantage by five points to three. Mr. Carrington was j referee.
