In Washington today, Representative O'Tooie (j^oiuocrat, Now York) charactcrising the Louis-Ooun title fight as a ' • stinkeroo, ' ' declt.red that . the championship bout was a fraud. He - txpresrxd the view that one more sucii nght woutd leave boxmg as dead as the dodo. Mr. O'Tooie telegraphed the chairluau oi' the Boxing Commission demanding that the purses he withheld pending an investigation "in justice to those v/lio were swindled. 'J Mr. O'Tooie told reporters that the promoter, Mike Jacohs, ought to he oarrovl from using the mails to defraud. The American Associated Press says that "Bash Boulevard" received Mr. O'Toole's move with considerahle hilarity. Jacohs shrugged it off with the statement, "O'Toole's oifi.ce called me before the fight seeking complinientary tickets. I refused, so now he comes hollering. " ! n'acohs announced that Louis would . roceive 605,600 dollars and Conn 302, 200. The net receipts after the pay- . ment of taxes, officials, and snpporting j houts v/ere 1,514,600 dollars.
