union's- annual meeting The annual meeting pf the-Horo-whenua Primary Schools' Rugby Union was held in the Levin School on June 20. Mr. H. F. McClune presided over a representative gathering of teachers from the schools of the district. In his annual report the president.. stated that ' now restrictions had been lifted, the resumption of inter-school games was desirable. The quadrangular tournament had , been held in the Horowhenua area ; last year and was most successful. This year i!t would be held in the' Ilutt. Thanks were exfpressed to the : school committees of the district, which had responded so generously to the appeal for new representalive jeraeys and socks. The Horowhenua Rugby Union had -also come to the assistance of the Lchools by contributing the balance required. The following officers were electcd: — President: Mr. H. F. McClune; vice-presidents : Messrs, James (Otaki) and Wat.ts (Ohau) ; committee: Messrs. Hartstonge, WiseIsy, To.wnrow, Aitchison, Rob.ertson and Duncan; secretary and treasurer: Mr. W. O. Neas; auditor: Mr. E. J. Watts; selectors: Messrs. C. E. Wiseley and Hewitson: delegate to H.R.U. : Mr. W. O. Neas. It was deeided to play intersc'hobl matches in two areas, north (from Ohau to Tokomaru) and south (from Manakau to Paekakariki). Southern fixtures committee: Messrs. James, Mayman and Duncan. Northern: Messrs. Wiseley, Aitchison and Neas. • In the northern area next week, Levin, plays Foxton and Ohau plays . Poroutawhao. Shannon is to play Opiki and Tokomaru combined'. A representative match, North • v. South, will be played on Saturd'ay, July 26. It was also deeided to try to arrange basketbgll ^matches for the girls in conjunetion " with _ the weekly football matches.
