COMMITTEE MEETING HELD A committee meeting of the Shannon Returned Services Association was held in the Council Chambers on Wednesday evening, Mr. R. Quinlan presided and Messrs. E. Gunning, J. Sinclair, T. Bell, E. Chester, E. Veale, T. Downes, F. Thurston, N. Retter and C. Guerin were present. It was moved that the next general meeting should be held in the Druids' Hall as a large attendance was expected to attend the address to be given by Mr. H. B. Burdekin, district vice-president of the N.Z.R.S.A. A motion was carried that a dance should be held on July 18 in aid of the branch bujldiiig fund. Arrangements for the dance were discussed. On the motion of Mr. C. Guerin, it was decided' to make a donation of £2 2s- $6 the Women 's Institute for its contipued support in supplying a piano wheneVer the association needed it. It was also decided to have the piano tuned.
