AUCKLAND^ June. 19. The youngest High Commissioner ever appointed in the British Empire, Lieut. A. R. Cutler, V.C)., arrived in Auckland by air from Sydney to take up his post as Australian High Comnnssioner in New Zealand. Lieut. Cutler, who is six feet six inches in lieight, is 30 years of age. Ile was accompanied by Mrs. Cutler whom he married a llttle over three weeks ago. "This is my iirst visit to New Zealand and I- ain looking forward to seeing your country," he said 011 arrival. "I met a lot of' members . of the New Zealand Division overseas and am hoping to see them again. " From his contact with New Zealanders during the war he had fonued a very high opinion of them, he said, and thought he was going to enjoy fiving in the Dominion. Ijieut. Cutler, who has distinguished himself in the field of sport in Australia, said he hoped to take an interest in the sport of the Dominion but added: "Miuce I lost my leg a lot of my own sport has gone by the board." Lieut. Cutler won his Yictoria Cross for gallantry during the Syrian campaign at the ago of 25 wlien a liuUtenant in an Australian Field Regiment. Lieut. Cutler will be stationed in Wellington and will travel by tlie Limited express on Friday night. •
