\ Received Wednesdav, 7.5 p.m. LONDON, June 18; The Royal Ascot (four days of racing with their Majesties attending daily) was held for the first. time for seven years, in fine weather. It was an austerity Ascot with lirm instructions from the Royal household that anything exeept lounge suits for men in the Royal enelosure be frowned on. There wero no fashion parades as before the war. The women most.ly came in coats and skirts witli preference to summery froeks which were a feature of pre-war meetings. _ i .
