The annuai meeting of the Otaki Bowiing Club will be held next Thursday, . and not to-night as stated in yesterday's issue. Office Xmprovements Structural improvements are at present being carried out at the Otaki Maori Racing Club's office by the addition' of an extra room and alterations to other rooms. The front portion of the buiiding will be used as an office, and the large room at the back as a meeting room. An additional telephone is being installed and when the whole work is completed the office will be up-ito-date.
Football Jubilee Golden juoiiee celebrations m ccnnection with the Wairarapa Rugby Football Union will be neld on Juiy 20, 21 and 22. On the opening day there will be a procession of old representatives, on the second day a church parade, and on July 22 a jubilee ball. The souvenir booklet to b'e printed is claimed to be "the greatest souvenir of rugby football that has ever heen placed before the public by any union in I similar celebrations. | Historic Otaki Church The attention of the Maori Synod 1 at Lower Hutt on Monday was ! directed by the Rev. Paora i Temuera, who is in charge of - the ! otaki Maori pastoral district, to the 1 approaching century of the erection of the Rangiatea - Church. Mr. | Temuera said that the church was i now in need of repair and suggestj ed that a committee "he appointed i for the purpose of celebrating the ! centenary. One proposal was that a commemorative booklet be pub1 iished. ' A committee was .set up to t consider the condition of the buiiding, the recording of its history, and ! to raise finance.
