DUNEDIN, June 19. World record prices for rabbitskins were paid at the fortnightly sale held hy the Dunedin Stock Agents' Association yesterday. Prices for best grade skins ranged from 214 pence for does to 218 pence 'for bucks and as high as 222 pence .{'for colou'red varieties, hut this reprdsents only 80 per cent. of the money actually paid by the buyers. The Govemment levy on winter skins which is used to subsidise rsummer trapping, is added to the prices realised at auction and buyers paid a top price of 27 7| pence or £1 3s l|d for a pound of skins. The greatest rise was in jthe autumns, incomings and hatter types which represented the hulk of the oft'ering of 74 tons. After the last war -prices for hest skins reached a peak of 246 pence. At that time there was no levy.
