Cabled advice has been receivedthat Miss Patricia (Nancy) Hesp, of Levin, arrived in Shanghai on June 9. Miss Hesp is engaged in relief work under UNRRA. The death has occurred of the Queen's sister-in-law, the Countess of Strathmore, at Shovelstrode Manor, Sussex. She married in 1908 the brother of the Queen, Lord Glamis, the eldest'son ef-the previous Earl of Strathmore. The Bishop of Wellington (Rt. Rev. H. Holland), who has been appointed to the Deanery of Norwich, handed in his resignation to the standing diocese on Tuesday night to take effect from August 31. His Lordship stated that he expects to sail for England shortly after that date. The new Bishop will pr'obably be phosen at the Diocesan Synod to bb 'held on July 15. i
