WINTER OUTLOOK GOOD
n.s.w. coal production SYDNEY, June -5. Following a week of record coal production, only four mines in New South Wales were idle to-day, with an output loss of 4000 lons, says ohtSydney Sun. With 110 serious disputes in the offing, indications are that another 200,000 tons will be produced this week. Continuation of the present output rats will mean ample winter, stocks for all States if production is maintained. All western mines are working to-day, -and there are no industrial tie-ups in the Aouth, where Mt. Kenibla stopped for tlie funeral of a mineworke'r. In the north there is a. continued stoppage at John Darling, a domestic dispute at Stockton Borehole and a dispute over promotions at Stanford Main, No. 2. ' Evidence will be heard at W011thaggi (Vic.), to-morrow on the miners' clairns for annual leave, .sick leave and weekly payment of wages. To-morrow Federal Cabinet will examine long-range proposals for rehabilitation and stabilisation of the coal industry. A Melbourne message says that by eking out supplies with wood and brown coal and any small reserves, most industries will be able to carry on temporarily. Three seamen will be flown from Sydney to Melbourne to-night to complete the manning of tlie collier William MacArthur. Shortage of seamen to man colliers has deepened Melbourne's coal crisis. ■*•• With the arrival'of five ships between Saturday and to-morrow night, industry may receive about foUr days' normal supply this week.
