LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB Sir; — Replying to . "Interested's" letter regarding the Otaki Mi'nia.- •. ture Rifle Club, which had tp go into recess during the war . on account of no ammunition and the rifles being commandeered by the Army Department, which , rifles have since been repurchased, I may state that these are in the capabie hands of the club captain. : Several members of the club have for several months past . been negotiating with the intention of recommencing again, but the Catholic Hall, at which place the club had a range, and held their very successful shoots and social gatherings previously, is not now procurable. However, negotiations are afcot with another local committee in the hope of procuring a suitable place, but up to the present nothing can be done until advice is received a'fter this committee has met again. Immediately a suitable place is available, or a reply received, the ch;b will no doubt call a ipeeting to decide its future. Perhaps "Interested" could { procure a hall for us, central and suitable? We would have "Interested" know (if not already aware of it) that the Otaki Miniature Rifle Club has not been altogether dormant, as each member of the club who served overseas was prior to leaving these shores, presented with a cash donation and also forwarded a food parcel while overseas. A very high percentage of its members served in all services. A suitable range procurable, and the club, with a large number of eager members, will resume again immedi--ately. Its only difficulty at present is to get a range to do so. Yours gLC "KEEN MEMBER." Otaki, June 15.
