Reeeived 'Wednesday, 1Q.55 a.m. .WASHINGTON, June 18. ■ * . Foilr members *of the House Foreign Affairs C.ommittee, reporting on a two months' trip to Europe, said there should be an immediate abandonment of any semblance of appeasement in negotiations and relations with Russia. The eommittee also urged that President Ti:uman and Generalissimo. Stalin hoid a conference as soon as possible, at which a frank exchange of views eould be expressed. The eommittee said: "It is very evident in Moscow that each time we haVe taken a stiffer attitude in refusing.Soviet demands, the United States Embassy has found it increasingly easier fo deal with Russian officials. On the other hand unwise appeasement alienated those members of the Political Bureau who were most friendly towards America, because they then became subjected to ridicule by hostile members, who asserted that a tough policy towards America produced the.best results for Russia."
