Oangerous Himatangi Bend The signposring committee of the Manawatu Automobile Association reported to a meeting of the association last everiing that the deceptive corner at the Himatangi Store had been discussed by the committee, and it was recommended that a sign "Deceptive Bend — No Camber" should be erected. Bowen aaded that the library staff was very busy. Girl Arrestecl In conneetion with the alleged robbery of £167 from the office of D. C. Stree-t Construction Co., Hamilton, last week, when it was stated that two men took the money from bags in the office while there was only one girl in occupation of the office, the police arrested the girl last night. When the case came before Justices of the Peace SeniorDetective Murray asked fo'r a remand, stating that under the circumstances it was probable that Ihe case would have to be dealt with by the Children's Court. The j money has been recovered. Man ancl Dog Re-united The story of affection between a soldier and a dog fostered in the vieissituaes of war, has had a happy sequel with the re-union of Bapdsman George Plimer and his canine L'riend Fiulf, who was recently released from quarantine. The story of Fluff and his master, is wiaely known in. New Zealand. They met on a railway station in Japan when Plimer was a prisoner of war and Fluff was smuggled on ihe Hospital ship with Plimer who was suffering from frost-bitten feet through Japanese neglect. The authorities at first refused to permit Fluff into New Zealand but they are now together again. Fate Still Undecided The fate of nearly 500 American operational aircraft of a total nom- . inal value of £14,000,000, at present parked on the R.N.Z.A.F. airfield at Rukuhia, near Hamilton, is still undecided. The member of the Air Board for supply, Air-Conimo-dore S. Wallingford, in reply to a recent inquiry, said that the future of the aircraft, which were involved in Lerid-Lease arrangements, was the subject of negotiations still proceeding in Washington between the New Zealand and United States Governments. There are 270 Con-' sairs, 110 Wdrhawks, 60 Venturas, 26 Hudsons, 19 Avengers, and ten new type of Venturas at Rukuhia. Many of them flew in the Pa,cific war. ' ,
