MELBOURNE, June 15. An inquiry has been opened into tho running of the New Zealand horse High Play, ridden by L. Hare in the Buckingham Handicap at Flemington on Saturday. High Play started favourite and linished third to League and Medicine. After the race thero was a noisy demonstration against League, who won easily after running last in liis previous start. Last month High Play's part-owner, trainer a Scott and jockey Hare wero disqualified for 12 months after an inquiry into tlie running Of the New Zealander First In, but their appeals were upheld. Since then Hare has hau a great run, winning two races on Eagle Flight and one on High Play.
