It is the intention of the New Zealand branch of the British Ejnpire Cancer Canipaign Society tp test new rudio-active substances for the treatment of cancer, said the president of tlie Society, Sir James Elliott, today. This would be done at the Society 's Doininion X-i*ay and radium laboratory at Cantcfi'lmry Univepsity Colleg.e. Various elements found in nature andin Ihe eomposition of the human body, could now be made radio -ac ti ve thus opening up ,a wide field of research and resulting, it was lioped, in economy ot eost and wider means of application, said Sir James.
