SUCCESS OF W.I. DRAMA FESTIVAL

HIGII STANDARD . OF WINNING PRESENTATIONS The success of the recently-held drama festival of the Southern Wellington Federatioij of Women's Institutes has been shown, not only by the way in which the public appreciated the presentations staged, but by the laudatory comments of the adjudicator, Judith Terry, who said yesterday that the marks awaraed to the winners of the comedy section (Otaki Women's Institute ) and the drama section (Levin Women's Institute) were the highest she had'ever given at any drama competition. The adjudicator also referred to a misinterpretation in the report of her remarks at the first night_of the festival. It was said that sne advised the pronounciation of the wqrd "was" as "wiz," and of the word "of" as "iv." She explained that "of" should be pronounced "uv," and "was" should not be emphasised so that it sounds ljkp "wos," but rather slujred sq tHqt: only the "w" and the "s" are hearcj.
