Reading, broke the world nonstop walkin'g record by cover- I ing 129 miles 749 yards in 21 liours without onee leaving tlie White- GHy j track. His aehievement did not equal : in mileago. T. E. Hammond's record in | 1908 when he walked 131 miles 580 j yards in 24 liours but ITammond 's effort was not nonstop.
