WELLINGTON, June 14. A person who has paid an uniount 111 excess of the price approved by tlie Land Saies Court is given the riglit to sue for its rocovory,' under the Scrviceincn's >Settlement and Land Saies Emergcncy Bcgulations issued last night. At the hearing of sucli an action any person may be sunimoned to appear and be examined, and on such examination, thc witncss will not be entitled to be cxcused from answering qucstions put to him on tlie ground that his evideuce would tend to incriminate liim. 'Any person may be similarly summoned to appear to give evidence in any proceodings rclating to any offence against the Act. If a person so required to give evidence discloses to the best of his knowledge all the facts on which he is questioned and therebv gives evidence feilding to incriminate himself, he will be entitled to a certiiicate from the Court freeing him from liability to prosecution in respect of the matters disclosed. A further provision is that a land agent 's licence may be cancelled if the holder of the iicence or his partner, emploj'ee or agent is convicted of au off eucc under tlie Servicemen 's Settlement and Land Saies Act.
