AUCKLAND SIDELIGHTS

Many oi' Findon's supporters were ocginning to have doubts abaut his capabilities until his win on Saturday. He^ran an excellent race, being well'up all the way. The Kincardine gelding proved that he is one of the best middle distance handicappers in New Zealand. Golden Pay's third in the Yor1 Handicap last Saturday rewarded his supporters with just on a quar-ter-century dividend. The Autopay gelding led most of the way, and it was only-over the last furlong. that he weakened. A- good performance by the Dozer, which placed him within a length of Brookby Song in the Winter, stiggests that he is returning to form. Although he may not reach the form he possessed about two seasons ago, he is still dangerous , and gives, good displays over ttie hurdles. \Hunto came down heavily in the Campbell Hurdles, but he was never in a dangerous position. If he had not fallen he would have been no trouble at the finish. Airport showed determination in setting after the paeemaker, Hunting Mac, in the Campbell Hurdles, and will win more steeplechase events before the season is out. Lowry Bay failed to run to expectafcions in the York Handicap, and was one of the last to finish. The going was not to his liking, but he is worth foll'owing in f uture events.
