LEFT FRANCE A FORTNIGHT AGO

LONDON, June 12. It was officially stated in Paris that a police investigation revealed that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem left France aboard an American plane nearly a f'ortnight ago. Af. Rene des Vaux, chief of the Paris judiciary police, has been dismissed as a result of the Mufti 's escape. The Paris correspondent of the Associated Press says the Mufti made no see.ret of his intention to depart from France. He told a friend at least a f'ortnight earlier that he was leaving. The Mufti travelled with a Syrian [lassport. A ear whieh the Frencli Government had supplied for the duration of his stay was driven to the house of a friend, where he got out, sending the ear to the house of another friend in Paris, pr.esumably to tlirow any trailing police off the traek. He left France by plane for Damaseus.
