The first race meeting of next season within easy reach of the Manawatu will be the Wanganui spring fixture. The dates chosen by the Wanganui Jockey Club are September 7 and 14. Marton has applied f6r September 21 and Foxton for September 28. Otaki- hopes to race on October 5, a date which Hawke's Bay also has applied for. Masterton wants October 12 and Wellington October 19, 2G and 28. Waverley also is in for October 28. • One of the first of the November fixtures will be that at Bulls on November 2, a date sought also by Stratford and Napier. Napier 's second day will be November 9. Levin wants November 23 and Feilding the 23rd and 30th. Most likely the New Zealand Cup meeting will open on November 23, be continued on November 30 and concluded on December 7. Woodville would like November 30 and December 7. Other dates applied for are:— Otaki, December 14; Manawatu, December 21, 2(3 and 28; Waipukurau, December 2(3; Marton, January 1 and 2; Wairarapa, January 1 and 2; Hawke's Bay, January 1 and 2; Wellington, January 18, 22 and -25; Ashhurst, January 22; Wanganui, February 1 and 8; Pahiatua, February 1 and 8; Otaki, February 8; Woodville, February 22; Kangitikei, Marck 1; Masterton, Marck 1; Wellington, March 8 and 15; Manawatu, Marck 22 and 29; Feilding, April 5 and 7; Wairarapa, April 5 and 7 ;« Waipukurau, February 7; Levin, April 2(3; Otaki, May 17; Woodville, May 24; foxton, May 24; Wanganui, May 31 and June 2; Manawatu, June 14; Wellington, July 5, 12 and 19; Manawatu Hunt Club, July 19; Rangitikei Hunt Club, July 20. Tliese applications will be considered by the dates committee of the Racing Conference in July.
