THE SKIRL OF THE PIPES
• Meiubers of the Euglish League touring team may have the inspiring (oi- otherwise) skirl of bagpipes to kerakl them on to Carlaw Park and pep them up at lialf-time when they plav here. Two bagpipe bands have applied to the Auckland Rugby League for apthority to play at the park on days that the Englishmen appear. A frivolous suggestion at the meeting of the league that the two bands be given half the ground each to work on, aud put ou simultaneously was howled down unanimously. The matter was referred to the New Zealaud Council for decision. _
