Tnese were Rona Jean, uwm daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Easton, Victoria Street, Levin, xormeriy of Buckiey, Shannon, and Douglas Elsdon, younger son of Mr. ana Mrs. W. G. Ciafk, Salisbury Street, Levin. The church, which, was decorated with white chrysanLhemums, autumn tinted leaves and red berries, was packed to the doors wnen, with Mr. J. W. Hayfleld at the organ and the assembly singing "Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us," the bride, escorted by her: tather and in all white retinue of ■ 'maids, waiked up the aisle to join • ihe waiting 'groom and his attendants. The bride wore an attractive trained gown of white silk o-aorg-ette, made with long, tight-fitting sieeves, rucked bodice and square net yoke outlined with silk ruching. The ruching also circled the gown at hip-length, and pointed upward at the front and back and continued straight down the centre of the train to the hern. Lent by Mrs. T. Twist, of Wellington", her 'long embroidered tuile veil was ' f ormed into a top-knot with white miniature chrysanthemums • and orange blossom. A circlet of crystal beads was worn, and she carried a dainty bouquet of white opmer chrysanthemums, orange I Dlcssom and asparagus and maid- ' enhair fern, f eaturing a slender i craner of orange blossom with fern land narrow satin streamers. j The three bridesmaids, Misses Panieia Gunning (Shannon), Doreen Galloway (Levin ) and Iris Hansen (Tokomaru) made an outstandmg trio in their ground-l-ength white cloque dresses. Fashioned j with long waists, yOkes and rucked; ^0 the centre bodices, short ruckedo: deeves, the full skirts were gather- j sd at hip-length and trimmed with - circlets of gathered narrow Valenciennnes lace, studded with red French knots. The Valenciennes lace was featured around the yokes and on the ruching of the sieeves, bodices and gathered top of the skirts. Long lace mittens were worn Janct J Wm&P K6&d 'dresses of shoul-der-length double-folded embroidered silk net veils pleated to form top-knots. Each wore a single, string of pearls, and colour was: given by red shoes, top-knots of red , berries and chrysanthemums and bouquets of red anemones, gerberas, chrysanthemums, berries and autumn-shaded leaves, tied _ with matching ribbon and f eaturing a slender trailer. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs D. Batten, Alton Easton and C. Davie, ail of Levin. Messrs. R. Hook and C. M. Cronquest, of Shannon, were ushers. While the register was being signed Mrs. Jamieson (Palmerston North) sang "O Perfect Love." As the bridal party came out of the church cameras clicked and the bride's niece, Lynette Johnson, presented a rucked satin horseshoe ornamented with orange blossom. Felicitations were extended to the newly-weds when their respective parents welcomed some 130 guests at a luncheon reception, held at Williams' tearooms. Mrs. Easton wore a dusky pink woollen georgette ensemble, finely tucked, wine accessories and shoulder spray to tone. A burgundy braided frock, with which was worn a matching spray, navy accessories and a fur coat was the choice of Mrs. W. G. Clark. The tables were decoraoea with white chrysanthemums and red berries, the colour scheme being repeated on the three-tired white iced wedding cake, which was graced by a silver vase of red carnations and roses. The usual toasts
were honoured and the beSt man read many telegrams oi congratulations. Pleasure was given by a vocal solo "Just for To-day," sung by Miss M'. O'Donnell, a humorous recitation, "The Bridesmaids' Lament," by Mr. C. M.- Cronquest, and a pianoforte solo by -Miss J. Davie. , •• • . Many of the guests adjourned to the residence of Mi\ and Mrs. Easton to view the array of.beautiful gifts, including cheques, and later went on the station to. farewell the happy couple and shower them with confetti. As a parting gesture, when the train began to pull out, Mrs. Clark threw her bouqdet to the bridesmaids. Mrs. Clark was looking very smart for the trip in a three-piece cherry-red siiit, with which was worn a matching hat , trimmed with torquoise blue veil- j ing, a turquoise blue blouse and : navy accessories. Berry, Mrs. Robbie, Senr., all of Palmerston North; Mrs. W. Clark and Mrs. Bradford (Otaki); Mr. and' Mrs. T. Twist, Mr. T. Gollins, Misses E. and M. Hook, all of Wellington; Mr. and Mrs. Pont (Dannevirke) and Mrs. Hansen (Tokomaru) . : " A delightful pre-weddirig gift party was given by very ''old* family friends, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Gardner and Miss Gardner, ' at their home, Sussex Street, Levin, when the health, happiness and prosperity of the young couple Was proposed by Mr. Gardner.
