COAL FAILS TO ARRIVE

MASTERTON, June 8. Considerable dilliculty is being experienced by the Masterton Gas Department in kecping up the suppiy of gas owing to the coal shortage, and pressure has been iow on one or two occasions this week. Enough coal is in hand to last over the week-end.- The Borough Gas Department stated that adequate coal supplies had been promised, but l'aiied to materialise. Electric power th rough out the Wairarapa is being cut off daily froin 4.30 till 5.30 p.m., and 011 occasions from midnight till 2 a.m.
