RECENT FORM MAY HAVE BEARING ON RESULTS

(Special — From L.M.M.)

Week-End Racing Prospects

WELJilN GTON, This Day. The Levin Racing Club has drawn handy size fields for its meeting at Otaki to-morrow. Given fine weather the fixture should draw a large crowd, profits from which will go to the Levin R.S.A. Memorial Hall fund. Cpnsidering the aihount of rain that has fallen the Otaki course is in reasonably good order for this time of the year. For the concluding day of the Auckland Club's winter meeting the card has drawn good fields, while the Dannevirke Hunt fixture at Hastings is being well supp'orted by Hawke's Bay trained horses.- - Prospects for tfiese meetings are: —

11.15 a.m.

Best form In the Cassino Hack and Hunters' bteeplechase, the opening event at the Levin meeting, is liciu oy uoionei Bogey ana Nanoox. The former's ciear cut wm in the wanganui Steeplechase wm cause him to go out a staunch favourite. Nanook is improving at uie game but might not oe quite to soanuard to oeac Colonel Bogey. penwilt- Iooks iikc the best of the otners, aitnough Norse is a type to oprmg an occasionai surprise.

ii.5i a.m.

Gynee eou reads the pick of the Aciimes Maiden Plate No. 1 and is tne liKeiy one to be the choice of the puuiic on ootn machines. However, Royal Fiash is improving with racmg, wniie it is said that once Reiainpago decides to give of his oest tnere wiii be little cause to look eisewhere for the winner. The rest oi the heid is oi unknown quantity and a surprise is more than nkeiy to come from this quarter.

12.39 n.m.

Both Prince Wanaka and Foxella, both good winter performers, are in two races, but if they start in the Pacinc Hack they must both be respecied. Cooraclare is the likely i favourite. Court Judge is well and' expected to show up. The race is very open with other horses engaged such as Tifox, Blackwater, Carthage and Balcastle. 1.21 n.m.

Unlucky at Wanganui Second Seal catches the eye as a good prospect in the Ei Aiamein Handicap, out with other good winter performers engaged like Foxcatcher, Silver Rod, High Order, Flahuluk and Miss Delaware, the race has a very open appearance.

2.3 p.m.

The Second Maiden Plate has drawn a poor lot, the best of which might be Skilled, The Stormovik, and Putere. The Stormov-ik has been backed and beaten that often that punters are loosing faith in 'him.

n.m.

If Prince Wanaka and Foxella are missing from the- Air Force Hack sbrint the race gives every appearance of developing into a duel between Carmelita, Tudor Chief and Robeology. Carmelita and Tudor Chief are in race form, having both won at Wanganui last week.

3.27 p.m.

The open six has drawn a good field and it would not surprise if a surprise is in store for punters here. On Wanganui form Listen In reads like a good prospect. Others reliable in the going are Foxcatcher, Piccolo, Ganges, Bay Robe, Leybourne and The Grand, The win'- j

ner is more than likely included amone thnsfi mentioned.

4.9 n.m.

The last race, the Messines Hack, should give Cock Robin a ■ good chance to prove his capabilities, but in Tiercel, Gynerio and St. Hilton he will find strong opposition. Horses expected to race well are: 11.15 — Cassino Hack and Hunters' Steeples (2i miles) .—Colonel Bogey, Nanook, Penwilt. 11.57 — Achilles Maiden Plate No. 1 (6 furlongs) — Gynee Lou, Royal Flash, Relampago. 12.39 — Pacific Hack Handicap (7 furlongs) — Cooraclare, Prince Wanaka, Court Judge or Foxella. 1.21 — El Aiamein Handicap (1£ miles) — Second Seal, Silver Rod, High Order. ' 2.3 — Achilles Maiden Plate No. 2 (6 furlongs) — Skilled, Putere, The Stormovik. 2.45 — Air Force Hack (6 furlongs). — Carmelita, Tudor Chief, Foxella or Prince Wanaka. 3.27— Roira Memorial (6 furlongs). —Listen In, Foxcatcher, Ganges. 4.9 — Messines Hack (1£ miles). — Cock Robin, Gynerio, Tiercel.
