"I AM RATHER SHOCKED"
INQUIRY INTO DESTRUCTION OF MATCHES Received Friday, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, June 6. Amid cries of "Order!" the Labour member Mr. Keenan struck a match in the House of Commons and oiiered to give a box to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Dr. Hugh Dalton, if he promised to maxe further inquiries into the cU-otruciion of miliions of matches at the order of the salvsge authorities, because they were sald to have been damaged by seavfater so that they were useiess. Dr. Dalton said :"I am going to ask Mr. Keenan to give me a box. 1 am rather shocked."
